An Evening with Ari Herstand and Chris Koza

Aster Cafe River Room, 125 Main Street SE, Minneapolis, MN

Ari Herstand has admired Chris Koza's songwriting prowess for most of his adult life. As a former Minneapolitan, Herstand was always a few venues behind Koza in his pursuit for local fame. Eventually Herstand and Koza were trading off headlining the Varsity Theater right before Herstand moved on to soak up the rays of Los Angeles in 2010. He returned to Minneapolis for a couple months in the Spring of 2012 to work with Dave King (Bad Plus, Halloween Alaska, Happy Apple) Jim Anton (Jonny Lang), Jake Hanson (Caroline Smith, Halloween Alaska, Grammas Boyfriend), Joey Kantor (Rogue Valley), Paul Marino (Halloween Alaska, Caroline Smith, White Light Riot) and co-write with Chris Koza for his Brave Enough record (2014). Officially, the first time the two acoustic troubadours will share a bill will be this one night experience at the Aster Cafe. Expect collaborations, stories, muted trumpet and sweet sweet Midwestern vocal harmonies.
